About Character
Salome is a secondary character in the story. Salome, Becca's grandmother, is a native of post-war Ukraine who grew up without a father who was considered missing in action during World War II. Only in adulthood did she learn that he was alive and had stayed in Germany to avoid endangering the family. After finding him, Salome decided to move to Germany where she began a new chapter of her life.
